AI assistant connection, and forwarding emails automatically
- AI assistant connection: connect your own ChatGPT, Claude or Grok Bot and check, add, change and tick off plans just by asking. Copy the address under “AI assistant connection” on your account page (Me in the app) and follow the steps on the card. It works on every plan. The AI can't delete plans.
- Forward emails automatically: set a rule once in Gmail, Outlook or iCloud, and school emails turn into plans on their own. You get a notification to check them, and you're told if no date could be found. Set it up under “Forward automatically” in group settings.
- See who really sent a forwarded email: emails forwarded from Outlook used to show an outlook_… address; now they show the school's original sender.
- One notification per email: your phone gets just the “added N plans” notification, not a second “something was added or changed” one.
October 29
Group calendar: tap a day to add, drag to move or copy; better time-clash notes
- Tap a day to add: tap a date on the group calendar (or an empty spot on the week or day timeline for that time). “+ Add on…” appears at the bottom – tap it and the date and time are already filled in, and you come back to the calendar afterwards.
- Drag to move or copy: on a computer, hold a plan and drag it; on a phone, press and hold, then drag. While you drag, a label above your finger shows the day and time. When you let go, choose “Move” or “Copy”, and you can undo it. If a day is busy, press and hold the plan in the list below the calendar to pick a date and time.
- Organizers see everything: when you or a helper are signed in, the group calendar shows everything in the group. To see just what the tablet shows, tick “Only what's on the shared calendar”.
- Family members with their own account: plans for them now show on their group calendar and phone widget, and they can tap a day to add and drag plans they added. After adding or editing, they go straight back to their board.
- Better time-clash notes: besides the same group, Turnabee now checks your other groups and a family member's own groups too (the same email or account means the same person; the same name is marked “may be the same person”). On the AI review page, tap “Time clash” to see what it clashes with; plans created from forwarded emails are flagged in the notification, the email and on the board. A “Just an event” with no time counts as the whole day. See “How time clashes work” in the guide.
- Faster: opening the group calendar from the phone widget, switching month, week and day, opening the board, opening a plan to edit, saving and adding all take much less waiting now.
October 26
New sticker: Poop
- New “Poop” sticker: in “Health & care”. Handy for potty training, keeping track for an older family member, the litter box or diapers. Titles with words like “poop”, “potty”, “diaper” or “litter box” get it automatically.
October 24
Forward an email, and the plans land on the calendar
- Forward emails to add plans: Every group now has its own email address (in “Group settings”, under “📧 Forward emails to add plans”). Forward school or class emails to it and the AI adds the plans to the calendar right away. You get a notification and a confirmation email, and can check, edit or delete each one – or everything from that email at once. Only emails forwarded by you, your helpers, or family members whose email is on the People page are read.
- Holidays on the group calendar: In “Group settings” you can tick “Western holidays”, “Taiwan holidays” and “Japan holidays”. Days off show in red. Holidays only appear on the group calendar, not in your family's phone calendars.
- Plans added with AI or “Add several” now show on the group calendar too: Just like adding one at a time, plans for “Everyone” appear on the group calendar; plans for one person don't.
October 23
Family members can now connect Outlook Calendar
- Connect Outlook Calendar: A family member opens their link, taps “Connect Outlook Calendar” and signs in with their Microsoft account. Your plans then show up in their Outlook within seconds – on the web, the desktop app and the phone app – with reminders. Personal accounts such as Outlook.com and Hotmail work.
- iPhone home screen widgets update right away too: When plans are added, changed or removed, the Turnabee widgets on your iPhone change within seconds – no need to open the app (app 1.0.2, iOS 26 or later).
- Tell a friend: The Account page now has “Enjoying Turnabee?”, where you can recommend Turnabee by LINE, text message or a copied link. In the app you can also rate Turnabee right there.
- A short intro for first-timers: New users see three quick cards the first time they open Turnabee – the board, no app needed for family, and AI that sets up plans. They can skip it.
- US-style dates: On the page where you check what the AI found, each date and time now reads like “Wed, 10/28 3:00–4:00 PM” (month/day, 12-hour clock), and it updates as you edit.
October 22
Know right away when plans change, and AI for family members
- Phone alerts when plans are added, changed or removed: Whoever makes the change – you, a helper or a family member – every phone with the Turnabee app gets “10/25: something was added or changed – please check”. Tap it to go straight to that plan. For removals it says “10/25: something was removed”. Android home screen widgets update right away too.
- Family members can add with AI: On the People page, open “⋯ More” for a family member and tap “✨ AI on”. When they open their “Add plans” link, the AI assistant is in the bottom-right corner: paste a notice, take a photo or speak, check what it found, then add. It uses your AI tries, up to 5 a day per person.
- Family members can use their own Turnabee account: When they scan the “Add plans” QR code, they can choose “Just add a plan” or “Sign in with a Turnabee account” (on an iPhone with the app, it opens in the app). Once signed in, they see the group's board in the app or on the web – only the plans meant for them – and AI uses their own tries, for free. They can't change other people's plans or add people.
- Notifications and widgets for family members with an account: When something they can see is added, changed or removed, their phone gets the “added or changed” alert too, and tapping it opens that plan. Plans kept secret from them don't trigger it. Their “Today” widget shows the plans they can see, and the group calendar widget can show this group.
- 37 new stickers: Four new groups – Daily life (haircut, coffee, takeout, nails…), Transport (bus, subway, train, airport…), Errands (post office, bank, supermarket, package pickup…) and Faith & community (church, temple, volunteer, gathering…) – plus Dog walk. AI picks them for you too.
- App home screen widgets: They show the hand-drawn stickers, and the group calendar widget switches between month and week (app 1.0.1).
- Download your data in the app: “Take your data with you” in group settings downloads a calendar file or a spreadsheet (app 1.0.1).
- The app's “AI assistant” widget now opens the AI chat straight away, the same as the ✨ button.
- Google Calendar fix: Plans starting after 11:30 PM with no end time didn't make it into Google Calendar. They now show correctly, running into the next day.
- “🤫 Keep it secret from” when adding many at once and on the AI review page: Each plan can be kept secret from someone, just like when you add one at a time.
- iPhone app fix: Buttons that ask you to confirm first – changing a link, deleting – did nothing in the app. They now show a confirmation box.
October 21
Secret plans, birthday reminders, and finding a free time
- Family birthday reminders: Add a birthday on a family member's edit page (only you see it). Three weeks before, you'll get a reminder, and “Plan a celebration” appears at the top of your board – tap it and the event, date, 🎂 sticker and “keep it secret from them” are filled in for you, with times when everyone's free. You can add your own birthday too; your helpers get the reminder.
- Find a free time: When adding or editing, tap “🔍 Find a free time” under the date. It looks at plans already in Turnabee and suggests times over the next 7 days when everyone's free (8 AM–9 PM). Tap one to fill it in. Family members can use it too when adding plans from their own link.
- Keep something secret from someone: When adding or editing, open “🤫 Keep it secret from” and pick who shouldn't know – a surprise birthday party, say. It won't appear in their calendar or on the family calendar. If you'd like them to know they're busy then, choose to show just “Busy” in their calendar: no details, no alert.
- No more jumbled code in phone calendars: On Android phones that sync with a Google account (the built-in calendar on Xiaomi, Samsung and others), the notes used to show raw <a href=…> code. Now it's one line with the name and a short link underneath that you can tap.
- More reliable Turnabee app reminders: When a reminder is due, the app now always alerts you, whether or not you've connected a calendar. If you'd rather not get it twice, turn it off under “Notifications on this device” in Settings (it's on by default).
- Alerts late on Android? “Notifications on this device” in Settings now explains what to change: set Turnabee and your calendar app's battery use to “Unrestricted”, allow them to run in the background, and on Xiaomi and some other phones turn on “Autostart”.
- Family members can see everyone's calendar when adding plans: Their add page has “See everyone's calendar first”, and if the time they pick clashes with someone else's plans, they get a heads-up.
- You'll also be notified when a family member changes or deletes a plan they added.
- Delete right from the board: Each item now has a bin next to its ⓘ. Tap it, check it's the right one, then tap again to delete.
October 20
Hand-drawn stickers, end times, and a heads-up when times clash
- Hand-drawn stickers: 37 stickers now have cute hand-drawn art, plus 15 new ones (Meal, Cooking, Laundry, Trash, Parent meeting, Rehab, Don't forget, To confirm, Rescheduled, Canceled…). Family calendars still show them, as the matching emoji.
- Add an end time: the time row is now “start to end”, and the end is optional. Fill it in and family calendars show the real length instead of always 30 minutes.
- A heads-up when times clash: if two things for the same person overlap, a yellow note appears while you fill in the form, like “Jamie already has ‘Dentist’ at Tue, Oct 27 10:00 AM”. Weekly and monthly repeats are checked ahead too. It's only a heads-up, and you can still save.
- Family can reply “Got it”: events you give to someone (parent meetings, sports days…) now show “Seen it? Tap here to let them know” in their calendar. When they tap it, you get a notification and the event on your board shows “✓ Dad got it”. If you change the date, they reply again for the new one.
- Add several and AI are checked too: the last review before adding shows any clash under each item.
- Repeat on certain weekdays: choose “Fixed date” and “week”, then tick the days, like piano on Mon, Wed and Fri, as one item that moves on to the next ticked day. It works when adding several too, and AI pre-ticks the days when the notice says “every Mon and Wed”.
- Add a place and open it on a map: adding one, adding several and AI all have a “Where” field. Family calendars show it as the event's location, with a “📍 Open the map” link for Google Maps or Apple Maps; on your board, tap ⓘ. AI fills it in when the notice says where.
- Family can add plans themselves: each person in Members now has “Add plans”. Give them that QR code or link and they can add plans, with files, without signing up or installing anything. No approval needed: it goes straight into everyone's calendar and you get a notification. They can only edit or delete what they added.
- More detail from the family calendar: tap an item on the family calendar or the phone widget to see the date, the full time, who, notes, the place (open it in Google Maps or Apple Maps) and attachments.
- A tidier Members page: each person's buttons sit in one row of four, with the rest under “More”, so nothing spills onto a second line on a phone. You can also add someone's email on their edit page.
- A reminder the night before to pack things: when AI reads “bring a packed lunch” or “bring a swimsuit”, it adds “Pack for tomorrow: packed lunch” at 8 PM the evening before, for the same person, in their calendar with an alert. Untick it on the review page if you don't need it.
- See the original photo while you check: after reading a photo with AI, tap “See the original photo” on the review page to compare. The photo stays on your device only; Turnabee doesn't keep it.
- More reliable photo reading: the occasional “Couldn't connect. Please try again.” now retries by itself, and a read that fails doesn't use up one of your AI reads.
- Stickers come first on the family calendar, so you always see them even in narrow boxes, and times are shorter (6:30–7:09 PM).
- Week and Day views on the family calendar: switch with “Month | Week | Day” at the top. Timed items sit on a timeline, overlapping ones side by side so clashes stand out, and weekly repeats show up every week. On a phone the week shows stickers only; swipe left or right for the next or previous week.
- Sharing to LINE on a computer now opens LINE's share window with the message already filled in, so there's nothing to paste.
- Take your data with you: in group settings, download everything in the group that isn't finished yet, as a calendar file (.ics, for Google, iPhone or Outlook) or a spreadsheet (.csv, for Excel or Google Sheets). For now, download it in a web browser; the app will get this in a later update.
October 19
Give each AI-found item to a different person, and get reminders without a calendar
- On the AI review page, each item has its own “For ▾”: give this one to A and that one to B. Anyone named in the notice is ticked for you.
- “All of them for ▾” at the top sets every item to the same people in one go, and you can still change them one by one.
- Forgot to choose someone? When you tap “Add”, that item is outlined in red and opened for you, and nothing is sent.
- Reminders even if your own calendar isn't connected: with Turnabee notifications on, your own items (and items for everyone) notify you at their reminder times. If your calendar is connected, it keeps doing the reminding, so nothing rings twice.
- Don't want these? Untick “A reminder is due” in the notification settings on your Account page.
October 15
Send with one tap: an icon for each app
- Right after you add something, or from any item's ⓘ, tap the app you use: WhatsApp, Messenger, Text, Email or LINE. The message is already written; pick who gets it and hit send.
- Takes one row on your phone: the 4 most common apps come first. Tap “More” for LINE, Copy and other apps.
- One ⓘ at a time: opening another ⓘ closes the last one, and tapping anywhere else closes it too.
October 15
Log in with LINE
- Sign in with your LINE account: tap “Log in with LINE” on the home page and allow it in LINE. No new password to remember.
- Works right inside LINE: if you open a Turnabee link from a LINE chat, Google sign-in often doesn't work there. “Log in with LINE” does.
- Same email, same account: if the email on your LINE account is the one you already use with Google, Apple or email sign-in, you land in that same account.
- We can't see your chats or friends, and we never post as you. We only get your LINE name and, if you allow it, your email.
October 15
Sign in with Apple
- Have an iPhone, iPad or Mac? Sign in with your Apple Account: tap “Continue with Apple” on the home page and confirm with Face ID or your passcode. No new password to remember.
- You can keep your email private: choose “Hide My Email” on Apple's screen and we only get a forwarding address from Apple. Our emails still reach you. If you hide it, keep signing in with Apple.
- Same email, same account: if the email Apple shares is the one you already use with Google or email sign-in, you land in that same account.
October 15
Add stickers to your events
- Pick a sticker for each event: when adding or editing, tap “Add a sticker” and choose one from 7 groups, like 🏥 for a doctor visit, ⚽ for sports day or 🎂 for a birthday. The ones you used recently are at the top, and “No sticker” removes it.
- See your month at a glance: the month calendar shows each event’s sticker. Turn on “Show only stickers on the group calendar” in group settings to make them bigger.
- Your family sees them on their own phones too: event titles in Google and Apple Calendar start with the sticker, like “🏥 Pediatrician”. No app to install. Reminder emails and LINE messages show it too.
- AI picks one for you: when you create events with AI, a photo, an imported file or your voice, a fitting sticker is suggested. You can change it.
October 15
Sign in with your email
- No Google account, or rather not use it? Sign in with your email: tap “Or sign in with email” on the home page, enter your email, and tap the link we send you. No password. If the email is on another device, you can type the 6-digit code from it instead.
- Same email, same account: if you already sign in with Google, signing in with the same email takes you to that same account.
- The add-to-calendar buttons now match your device: on iPhone, iPad and Mac it says “Add to Apple Calendar”; on Windows and Android you only see “Connect Google Calendar”, instead of a confusing “choose an app” window.
October 14
A tidier board, and an AI assistant on every page
- The board is grouped by date: overdue, today, tomorrow, this week, next week and later. Each group folds away, and this device remembers which ones you folded.
- Each row shows just the name and “who · when”. Category, repeat, private and notes are behind the ⓘ on the right — one tap to see them.
- See one person's things only: the “Everyone ▾” and “All categories ▾” buttons at the top work together.
- “+ Add something” is now at the top, and a “+” button in the bottom-right corner is always within reach.
- The ✨ in the bottom-right corner is your AI assistant: type, take a photo or pick one from your photos, or tap 🎤 and say it, and it turns it into schedule items for you to confirm. You can also ask “What's on today?” or “What does Jamie have tomorrow?” — questions don't use up AI tries.
- The AI assistant can read files too: tap 📎 and pick a Word, Excel or PDF file. You see the text it found first and can edit it, then tap “Read” to turn it into schedule items.
- The group name at the top left is now a menu, so you can switch groups or start a new one; “Groups” is also at the top.
- A cleaner People page: email, sync status and other details are behind the ⓘ next to each name. Anything that needs your attention (calendar not connected yet, sync stopped) still shows.
- New Operator information page (English, Japanese, Chinese), linked at the bottom of every page.
- Tell them right after you add something: tap “Tell them on LINE” or “Send with another app” (Messenger, WhatsApp, text messages and more). The message is already written with the date, time and notes; just pick who to send it to. Several things added at once go in one message, and the ⓘ on each item lets you send it again. On a computer, the button copies the message instead.
- Going back now closes the “Add something” form and returns you to where you were on the board. The form also has a × at the top and a Cancel button at the bottom.
October 12
Repeating events, and an easier time picker
- Events (things nobody ticks off) can now repeat on fixed dates, like a weekly class or a monthly check-up.
- Setting a time now uses the site's own clock, so the “Set” and “Cancel” buttons are never cut off.
- The attachment button now follows the site's language.
October 10
Read a notice with AI: photos, and a simpler check
- “Read a notice with AI” now has “📷 Photo or screenshot”. Take a photo of a printed notice or pick a screenshot; the AI reads it and lists what to add, and you just check and press “Add”.
- The check page is simpler: one line per item (date, time, title), tap “Edit” only if you need to change something, and one tap on “Add” finishes it — no extra review page.
- The AI reads it twice and compares. When it is not sure (the two reads disagree on a date, or a date does not match its weekday), it stops first and asks you to check against the photo.
- The photo is not kept, and location details are removed on your phone first. One photo counts as one try.
- For best results, hold the phone straight over the page and fill the screen with the writing.
October 9
What’s on today, read out loud
- Your board now has “🔊 What’s on today”. One tap turns today into a short summary, like “3 things today. Ann: 8:00 AM lunch money… Also 1 overdue”, and reads it out in your device’s own voice.
- No AI, and nothing is sent anywhere. It reads exactly what is on your board, and only uses voices marked as produced on your device.
- Some phones have no voice available for this. On those, the summary is shown as text only.
October 9
Read a notice with AI
- Paste in a notice and AI turns it into tasks. A school letter or a message from a group chat both work. On your board, tap “✨ Read a notice with AI”, paste the text or dictate it with your phone keyboard’s microphone, and press “Read it”.
- You always see the list before anything is created. You can change each one’s date, time and notes, and untick the ones you don’t want. Anything that needs a second look is marked, for example when the year wasn’t written.
- Things with a deadline get an extra reminder the day before, like “return the form by 16 Oct”.
- If it went wrong, one tap undoes it and deletes everything that was just created.
- How many times: 10 in total on Free, 100 a month on Basic, 300 a month on Plus. A read that fails doesn’t count.
- We don’t keep the text you paste. It is sent to OpenAI to be read and is not used to train AI. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
October 9
A colour for each person
- Everyone in the group now has their own colour. On your board, things assigned to someone have a stripe in their colour on the left and a matching dot before their name. Things for two people get two colours.
- The shared calendar (the one on the wall) does the same: each thing’s line is in the colour of the person doing it, and the top shows who is which colour. Overdue things stay red.
- New people get a colour nobody else is using yet. To change it, open People, tap the person’s name and pick a colour further down.
- Colours only show for you, your helpers and on the shared calendar. Nothing changes in the other person’s own calendar.
- The group calendar now has “← Back to your board” at the top left. Only you and your helpers see it while signed in; the screen on the wall and anyone else with the link see the page as before.
October 8
Turnabee in Japanese
- Pick 日本語 from the language menu at the top right. If your browser is set to Japanese, you see it the first time you open Turnabee.
- All of it is translated: every page, the emails, the text Turnabee puts in the other person’s calendar, the help page, the guides and the legal pages. Prices stay in US dollars.
- The privacy policy and terms now say at the top that the English version is the one that counts. The Chinese and Japanese versions are translations; nothing else in them changed.
October 7
Events: things with nothing to tick
- When you add something, you can now choose “Just an event”. For a sports day, a day off or a family dinner: things that happen on a day, with nobody who has to do anything and nothing to tick.
- An event still shows up in the other person’s calendar. If you say who it is for, they still get the reminders. The calendar entry just has no “Done? Tap here to tell them” link.
- Events are never overdue. Once the date has passed, an event removes itself from your board and from their calendar. Nothing is marked overdue and no overdue reminder goes out.
- “Add several at once” can add events too: choose “Event (nothing to tick)” under Repeat on that line. An event happens once and does not repeat.
October 6
Reminders, repeats and attachments when adding several at once
- Each line in “Add several at once” can now have its own reminders, repeat and attachments. Open “Notes, reminders, repeat, attachments” under that line. The choices are the same as when you add one thing.
- Leave it alone and nothing changes: it happens once, with a reminder at the time.
- Review no longer takes you to another page. What you are about to create shows on the same page, and so does a note about any line that is missing something. Go back to change something and what you typed and the files you chose are still there.
October 2
Paid plans are open
- You can now subscribe to Basic or Plus. Basic is US$4.99 a month (US$49.99 a year): up to 10 people, 5 groups and 1 helper, plus the daily digest email. Plus is US$8.99 a month (US$89.99 a year): up to 30 people, unlimited groups and 3 helpers. Open *Pricing* and choose Upgrade.
- Free stays as it is, for as long as you like. The people you schedule never pay — only the person doing the scheduling does.
- Change plan or cancel whenever you want, from your account page — no email needed. After cancelling you keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for. Before a plan change goes through you get one confirmation step that spells out what happens to the money.
- Prices do not include tax. Depending on where you live, VAT or sales tax may be added at checkout; the exact total is shown before you pay. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy — your card details stay with them and we never see them.
September 30
More than one reminder per task
- When you add or edit a task, choose when they get reminded: at the time, 10 minutes before, 1 hour before, 1 day before. Pick as many as you like — each one rings once.
- Tasks without a time can remind the day before too. *At the time* rings at 9 am that day; *1 day before* rings at 9 am the day before.
- Only the people doing it are reminded. Anyone else who can see the task gets no alert for it. Tasks you created earlier keep the reminder they had — nothing to redo.
September 23
Know the moment it happens
- When someone reports a task done, your phone and computer tell you. No more coming back to check the board. Open your account page, find *Notifications on this device*, and turn it on — nothing gets installed, these are ordinary web notifications.
- You find out when a calendar breaks. If someone disconnects Turnabee from their Google Account, they stop getting what you schedule and nobody notices. Now you get told the moment it happens.
- Overdue tasks with nobody on them: once a day. One summary with a count, not one per task — otherwise something you have put off for a fortnight would nag you fourteen times.
- Also: a helper accepting an invitation, and running low on attachment space. All five can be switched off individually, so you can keep only the ones you care about.
- Turn it on once per browser. Your phone and your computer are separate; remove any device from the list when you no longer want it there. On iPhone, add Turnabee to your home screen first and open it from the icon — that is Apple's rule, not ours.
- Pick your language once and every device follows. That choice used to live only in the browser you made it in, so a new device meant picking again. It now lives on your account.
- You can see where you are signed in, and sign out from here. Your account page lists them — which system, which browser, when it was last used — with a sign-out beside each. If you cannot tell which is which, *Sign out of every other device* keeps the one you are on. Signing in on someone else's computer used to mean going back to it.
September 23
Tasks can carry files now
- You can attach photos and files when you schedule something. A photo of the medicine packet, the form to bring, the model number on the fridge — you used to have to describe it in words. Now it goes straight on the task, and a link to it appears in the other person's calendar entry. Photos, PDFs, Word and Excel all work.
- You have a calendar of your own now. You always did, but you had to think to go and find your own row on the people page. There is now a card on your account page: one calendar per group, one tap to set it up.
- Turnabee can go on your home screen and behave like an app. Nothing gets installed — it just gets its own icon, and opens without an address bar. Works on a computer too. Your account page has step-by-step instructions.
September 23
Whether their reminders actually go off
- You can now see whether someone's reminders really ring. For people on Google Calendar, this page used to say only "in sync" — which means the thing arrived, not that their phone will make a sound. There is now a second line, *Reminders confirmed*, and it only appears once they have tapped the test reminder themselves.
- If we cannot remove someone's calendar, we tell you. When a person has already disconnected Turnabee from their own Google Account, we lose permission to delete the calendar we made for them, and old reminders can still pop up. That used to happen silently. Now it is written on this page, along with a sentence you can forward to them as-is.
- The test reminder now removes itself. Once someone on Google Calendar confirms it, the "Turnabee is working" entry is taken off their calendar instead of sitting there forever.
September 18
Other people's things are yours to see, not to tick
- Only the person responsible can report it done. When something is visible to everyone, the whole household sees it on their own calendar — but only the person it was given to gets the *I did it* link. Anyone could tick it before, which produced entries like "the sitter finished Dad's task". Things given to nobody in particular are unchanged: anyone can do those, so anyone can report them.
- Other people's things no longer interrupt you. If a thing is not yours, your phone does not ring for it. It simply sits on the calendar so you know what is going on at home.
- The summary email now speaks your language. It used to be English for everyone, whoever you were.
September 17
Add several at once — and remove several at once
- Add several at once. There is a new link at the bottom of the board. Pick who the things are for, then list them one line at a time. You see everything once more before anything is created.
- Remove several at once. Both the things list and the people list now have a *Select several* button. Every name is listed before anything is removed — a count alone would not show you that you ticked one too many.
- The activity page now says how far back it shows. Older entries are not deleted; your plan simply shows fewer of them.
- Plans and pricing are always one click away, from the top of every page once you are signed in.
September 16
The calendar now lands on their phone
- Google Calendar syncs directly. Android or iPhone, it makes no difference. They connect once, and after that anything you change shows up on their calendar straight away — nobody has to refresh anything.
- A calendar for each group. Every group now has its own month view. Open it from “Group calendar” in the top bar. It is meant for the tablet on the kitchen wall, where everyone can just look up and see it.
- Each task decides whether it goes on that wall. Some things should not be readable by whoever walks past. Untick “show on the group calendar” on that task and it stays off.
- They can report “done” straight from the calendar. Opening the event on their own phone shows a line that says “✓ Done? Tap here to tell them”. One tap and you know. They never sign up for anything and never install anything.
- A notification bell. Top right. When somebody reports something finished, a red number appears; open it to see who, what and when. Your own ticks on the website do not count — those are things you did, not news.
- The date field says what it means. The old wording was easy to misread. It now simply asks when the task is next due.
